Mr. Ernest Clifford Hewitt Jr. was born on 18 April 1936 in San Diego, California. In 1953 Mr. Ernest Clifford Hewitt Jr. enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attended Boot Camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon Graduation Mr. Ernest Clifford Hewitt Jr. was promoted to Private First Class and was transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California for Intensive Training Regiment for Training.
In 1954, upon completing ITR was sent to Staging Battalion to be sent overseas to Item Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force in Korea for temporary duty and then transferred to Middle Camp Fuji, Japan for Cold Weather Training for Korea.
While in Japan, PFC Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., studied Judo in a dojo located in City of Gotemba, Japan. After completing Cold Weather Training was transferred back to Item Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force in Korea for duty. For the next four years PFC Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., was promoted to Corporal and finally being promoted to Sergeant in 1958 and was stationed at various duty stations also training in Judo whenever he had free time.
In 1959 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Le Jejune, North Carolina. From May to December 1959 while being stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Le Jejune, North Carolina studied the following Martial Arts: Aikido, Judo, and Ju-Jitsu in various Martial Arts Clubs throughout North Carolina.
In January 1960 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Courtney Okinawa, Ryuken Island, Japan. While being stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Courtney Okinawa, Ryuken Island, Japan, Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. trained and studied the following Martial Arts: Judo under the direction of Sensei (Yamaguchi) 5th Degree Black Belt in Judo; Aikido under the direction of Sensei (Maki) 4th Degree Black Belt in Aikido and Sensei (Suri) 4th Degree Black Belt in Aikido; Ju-Jitsu under the direction of Sensei R.C Sullivan, Captain, United States Marine Corps - All Marine Far East Ju-Jitsu Club, Marine Corps Base Camp Courtney Okinawa, Ryuken Island, Japan. In September 1960 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Ikkyu in Aikido by Sensei (Maki) 4th Degree Black Belt in Aikido.
In February 1961 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo by Sensei Sigan Jamaki, Chairman Okinawan Ryuken Judo Federation (Japan). In September 1960 Ryuken Island Judo by Sensei Sigan Jamaki, Chairman Okinawan Ryuken Judo Federation (Japan), during a special 3 of 5 elimination match held by Okinawan Ryuken Judo Federation (Japan). From September until December 1961, Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. had been given the privilege of being allowed to teach Judo to students from 9 to 12 years of age in several dojos located throughout Okinawa, Ryuken Island, Japan. In November 1961 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt in Aikido by Aiki Aikido Federation of Japan. In December 1961 Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt in Ju-Jitsu by Sensei Peter Sachanoshi, Nidan under the direction of Sensei R.C Sullivan, Captain, United States Marine Corps - All Marine Far East Ju-Jitsu Club, Marine Corps Base Camp Courtney Okinawa, Ryuken Island, Japan. Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. visited various dojos in Okinawa until 1963. Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., was then transferred back to States to be honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
In 1963, sometime after being discharged, Sergeant Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the United States Marine Corps visited various dojos in Texas and finally settled down in a town called Wichita Falls, Texas. While in Wichita Falls from June until December 1963 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. practiced judo in various Judo Clubs.
From December 1963 until April 1968 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., while working at various construction sites, met his future wife Miss Lydia Gomez while he was visiting in El Paso Texas and moving around and participating in local dojos in Texas. During this time Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. not only worked with Judokas, he also practiced with Ju-Jitsuka and Aikidoka students mostly Shodans and Nidans in those Martial Arts wherever a dojo could be found in the state of Texas.
On April 7 1966, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., asked Miss Lydia Gomez to be his wife and were married the same day. With his wife he traveled back to teach at the YMCA in Wichita Falls, Texas until June of 1968 and then Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. and family moved to Mineral Wells, Texas to teach at the Texas Boys Club.
From June 1968 until December 1970, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. taught Judo and Ju-Jitsu at Mineral Wells Center.
In January 1971 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. moved from Mineral Wells to El Paso, Texas for a better paying job. From January 1971 to May 1973 was inactive in practicing and/or teaching Martial Arts due to excessive workload.
From June 1973 until present, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was associated with the following Martial Arts Clubs, all of which are located in Juarez, Mexico: "Samurai" Judo Club, "Tech. Inst. Juarez" Judo Club, and "Mendoza's" Judo Club. From time to time Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was honored with letters, plaques or certificate of appreciation by the club mentioned clubs as well as by those Martial Arts Clubs in the States of Texas and New Mexico. Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. also taught classes or gave seminars in all of the before-mentioned clubs in Aikido, Judo and Ju-Jitsu. During the early years of this time period Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was asked to teach and or take over the classes of the White Dove, West Side recreation center, "The Astatsu Judo Club" which served both Army Basses in El Paso Texas.
From 1974 to 1978, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. studied and practiced Aikido, Judo and Ju-Jitsu under the late Sensei Hayashi. During this time Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. continued to teach and help coach and train students from all the before-mentioned Judo Clubs in Juarez, Mexico, El Paso, Texas and New Mexico.
During the month of September 1978 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. opened his own dojo, The Sleeping Dragon Judo Club. In his club the following Martial Arts were taught Aikido: Judo and Ju-Jitsu (the main martial art he taught was Judo).
From 1979 to 1983, while still teaching Judo, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. studied the Martial Art of Lia and Lai Jitsu under Master Sensei Toshio "Lucky" Sasanuma.
From 1980 to 1986, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. studied the Martial Art of Kali under Master Instructor Tuhol Leo T. Gage Jr. and Master Instructor Grage Alen, now El Paso Chief of Police.
In 1980 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. met and practiced with Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes Shodan in Judo Sensei and Head Instructor of the Laurel Bay Judo Club stationed at MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina visiting with family in El Paso on his way to participate in the All Marine Judo Championship's being held in MCAS El Toro, El Toro California.
In the early part of 1981, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. met and practiced Judo techniques with Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes on his way to participate in the All Marine Judo Championships being held in MCAS El Toro, El Toro California. In July 1981 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was visited by Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes, to practice Judo techniques with him while on his way to MCAS El Toro to be station there for duty and joined up with the El Toro Judo Club under the direction Sensei Ben Mc Kay.
From 1981 – 1985, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. continued to teach Aikido, Judo and Ju-Jitsu to clubs in Juarez, Mexico.
In the early part of 1982 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was visited by Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes, to practice judo techniques with him in preparation for the All Marine Judo Championships at MCAS El Toro, California. Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes was promoted to Nidan in Judo after the Championships were held by Sensei Bill Dye and Ben Mc Kay.
In June 1982, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. participated in a two day Kata Clinic given by Sensei Dot Sallar, National Kata Instructor, United States Judo Association National Examiners, held at and sponsored by the Westside Recreation Center Judo Club.
In January 1983, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. participated in a two day Kata Clinic given by Sensei Dot Sallar, National Kata Instructor, United States Judo Association National Examiners, held at and sponsored by the Atatsu Judo Club, Fort Bliss Army Base, El Paso, Texas.
In the early part of 1983, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was visited by Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes, to practice judo techniques with him in preparation for the All Marine Judo Tournament in MCAS El Toro, California. After the 1983 All Marine Judo Championship on MCAS El Toro, Staff Sergeant Edward E. Wilkes would be transferred to MCAS Kaneohe Bay Hawaii and be the Head Instructor of the Kaneohe Bay Judo Club.
In the middle part of 1983, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was visited by O'Sensei Phil Porter, President of the United States Judo Association and held a seminar with Sensei and promoted students.
Between November 9th and 11th, 1984, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. participated in a three day Kata Clinic given by Sensei Dot Sallar, National Kata Instructor, United States Judo Association National Examiners, held at and sponsored by the University of Texas in El Paso Texas.
Since 1984, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., as part of the Judo Judansha, also worked under the direction of Sensei Loren Bentley, Rokkudan of the Yawara Judo Association for several years.
In 1984 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to Nidan, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo, by United States Judo Association and received a Rank Certificate.
In March 1985, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. competed in The El Paso Championships Tournament and received 2nd Place in El Paso, Texas.
On July 9th, 1985, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. sponsored a Kata and Technique Tournament to support patients of kidney disorder (of which his wife Lydia was one) at OtelDieu Medical Center, El Paso, Texas. An article on this event was written by Vince Langford, of The El Paso Herald, in El Paso, Texas.
In July 1986, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was notified by Sensei Edward E. Wilkes of the Wild Bill Judo Ju-Jitsu Club in Orange County, California, that he was back in the States and out of the United States Marine Corps and would be visiting him and would like to help him with his Judo Club, the Sleeping Dragon Judo Club. Sensei Edward E. Wilkes promised that someday in the future he would be moving to El Paso to practice any style of Martial Arts Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. wished. Sensei Edward E. Wilkes stated that when practicing with Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., he personally felt he was the big brother he never had and being a United States Marine we stand together and are Always Faithful to the cause in Service to the United States Marine Corps and to the Martial Arts we practice every day of our life.
From July 1986 to 2007, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. practiced with Sensei Edward E. Wilkes throughout the years until he moved down to El Paso, Texas on December 2007 to live in Fabens, Texas.
In the Fall of 1987, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was noted in an article in the "USJA COACH" Editorial by Skip Hult for introducing a different kind of Judo Tournament to help students acquire a better understanding of Judo and its mechanics.
In 1988 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. received a serviceable letter from Sensei Loren Bentley, Rokkudan of the Yawara Judo regarding Judo abilities and accomplishments and was presented herein this letter Dated 04-23-1988.
Between 1988 to 1991, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. studied Aikido under the direction of Sensei Oscar Medena and Sensei Yoshimitsu Yamada 8th Degree Black Belt, Head of the East Coast, USA Aikido Federation, out of New York Aikikai, New York City, New York who was associated with the International Aikido Federation and the United States Aikido Federation.
On January 1, 1991 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was validated to the rank of Yondan 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo by O'Sensei Phil Porter, President of the United States Martial Arts Association.
On January 1, 1995 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was validated to the rank of Yondan 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo by O'Sensei Phil Porter, President of the United States Martial Arts Association.
On June 1, 1995 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. temporarily shut down the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" due to the excessive illness of his wife Lydia.
From June 1, 1995 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. would occasionally practice Aikido, Judo, Ju-Jitsu with both Sensei Edward E. Wilkes of the Wild Bill Wilkies Judo/Ju-Jitsu Club of El Toro, California and Master John Colby Founder and Head of Takezaki Ryu in El Paso, Texas to help take his mind off of worrying about his wife Lydia.
In February 1997 Sensei Edward E. Wilkes of the Wild Bill Wilkies Judo/Ju-Jitsu Club of El Toro, California renamed his dojo to Goshin Budokan U.S.A. Shuyokia Hombu Martial Arts Federation.
In March 1997 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt in Goshin Do Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu/Aikido and registered with Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation.
On December 25, 1997 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Nidan 2nd Degree Black Belt in Goshin Do Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu/Aikido with Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation.
On February 2, 1999 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Sandan 3rd Degree Black Belt in Goshin Do Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu/Aikido with Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation.
On October 14, 2000 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was notified by phone call from Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation that he was married on this day to Miss Bertha Guadalupe Hernandez of El Paso, Texas.
Between the 24th and 31st of December 2000, Doshu Edward E. Wilkes, Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation, visited Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. to have him spend Christmas and New Year's Eve with them at their family home in El Paso, Texas and welcome him as part of the Family.
On February 12, 2001 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to the rank of Yondan 4th Degree Black Belt in Goshin Do Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu/Aikido with Doshu Edward E. Wilkes, Dojocho of Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shuyokia Humbu Martial Arts Federation.
In mid-2001 to 2003, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. studied and practiced Lia, Ju-Jitsu and Aikido with Master Sensei John Colbly Founder and Head of Takezaki Ryu in El Paso Texas.
In 2003 to early 2004 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., with his partner Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz, helped each other instruct and train students of the "Club de Samurai", and through the teaching of the Martial Art of Judo, these students acquired 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals at the Mexican Junior Olympics that year in Tijuana, Baja California. In addition, 11 year old Norma Rubi Zavala Moncada was elected to go to the Junior Pan Am Games held in Santo Domingo, Republica Dominican. There she acquired a Silver Medal in her weight class.
From Mid 2004 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. reopened the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" mainly due to Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho's (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) dedicated leadership and coming through on his promise of years ago, came to El Paso, Texas to hold a Seminar at the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" on June 10, 2004 and to celebrate his wife's birthday at the "Sensei Bertha G. Wilkes" / reopening of The "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club".
Also on this day, June 10, 2004, Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted and registered to the rank of Godan 5th Degree Black Belt in the Martial Art of Shubukan Ryu Goshin Do Ryu Ju-Jitsu under the direction of Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) and signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
On September 8, 2004 Sensei Ernest C. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) and signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
On September 8, 2004 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was awarded an Official Shubukan Dojo Certificate for the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" as a Branch Shubukan Dojo Issued and signed by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) and signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
On September 8, 2004 both Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club "Branch Shubukan Dojo and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" joined together as the Triad Martial Art Federation to work together as a team to train students under the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. Shubukan Martial Arts Federation. Both Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" agreed that if anything happened to Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club "Branch Shubukan Dojo that Doshu Edward E. Wilkes would take over the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club "Branch Shubukan along with the help of Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" to train more students in the Memory of Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club "Branch Shubukan Dojo.
On February 23, 2005 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to Sandan 3rd Degree Black Belt in Judo issued by United States Judo Association. On June 10, 2005 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was visited by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) to hold a seminar at the Boys club on Delta in El Paso, Texas.
On July 23, 2005 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" were inducted for Instructor of the Year award into the United States Martial Arts Association Hall of Fame by O'Sensei Phil Porter in St Peters Missouri.
On April 19, 2006 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was promoted to Yondan 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo issued by United States Judo Association.

On June 8, 2006 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. received a certificate for a Certified National Judo Examiner issued by United States Judo Association.
On June 8, 2006 Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., after participating in a seminar, received a certificate establishing him as a Certified State Judo Coach from USA Judo.
In December 31, 2007 Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Moreno, California) moved to El Paso and now resides at 490 Avo Street Fabens, Texas.
In 2008 Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation) with both Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" joined as the Triad Martial Art Federation practiced together with students on various Martial Arts techniques.
On April 18, 2008 Renshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., on this day his birthday, celebrated his 50 years in the Martial Arts, was awarded and issued a Special Shubukan Ryu Happy Birthday and was given the Title of "Always Faithful Black Belt Instructor"/"Honorary Shichidan Rank" with the Instructor rank of Kyoshi issued and signed by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho Judan in Genjitsu Ryu Aiki Ju-Jitsu/Goshin Do Ryu Ju-Jitsu (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas.
On August 16, 2008 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was inducted into The Masters Hall of Fame by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas held in California for Lifetime Achievement Award in the Martial Arts.
On January 1, 2009 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was upgraded to Senior Rank Examiner in Judo and a certificate was issued by United States Judo Association.
In 2009 Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation with both KyoshiSensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club "Branch Shubukan Dojo and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" joined as the Triad Martial Art Federation practiced together with students on various Martial Arts techniques.
In 2009 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. was inducted into The United States Martial Arts Association Hall of Fame for Instructor of the Year in Martial Arts by O'Sensei Phil Porter.
On November 10, 2009, the birthday of The United States Marine Corps, Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was promoted and registered to the rank of Rokudan 6th Degree Black Belt in the Martial Art of Shubukan Ryu Aikido and was certificate was issued and signed by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas and also signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
On November 10, 2009 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr.of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo received a rank certificate for being registered a Rokudan 6th Degree Black Belt in Aikido from American Martial Arts issued and signed by the United States Judo Association.
On January 1, 2010 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was issued a Special Recognition Certificate for the many years he has had in the Martial Arts issued and signed by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas and signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
On January 1, 2010 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was upgraded to National Judo Coach issued and signed by USA Judo.
In May of 2010 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was awarded a Black Belt Instructor Rank of Kyoshi in Shubukan Ryu Aiki JuJitsu issued and signed by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas and also signed by Sensei David A. Dye of the Shuyokan Ryu American International Shuyokan Federation of California.
In May of 2010 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was assigned and designated Assistant Technical Advisor by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens, Texas.
In 2010 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was asked by Doshu Edward E. Wilkes to serve on the United States Judo Association Aikido Certified Examiners and Promotion Board until the present.
In 2010 Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation, with both Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai", joined as the Triad Martial Art Federation practiced together with students on various Martial Arts techniques at various Judo clubs.
Note: Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo has received many accolades and awards from many Martial Arts in Mexico and New Mexico and El Paso, Texas including letters and plaques in recognition of his dedication and hard work in the Martial Arts throughout his martial Arts Career.

Even as the health of Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr., Dojocho of the "Sleeping Dragon Judo Club" Branch Shubukan Dojo was getting worse from year to year, both Doshu Edward E. Wilkes Dojocho (Founder and Chief Examiner of the Goshin Budokan U.S.A. American International Shubukan Federation of Fabens Texas and Sensei Ernesto X. Ruiz "Club de Samurai" stood close by him to ensure things would be taken care of.
On Saturday April 27, 2013 Kyoshi Sensei Ernest C. Hewitt Jr. Dojocho, of the "Sleeping Dragon Dojo" Branch Dojo which is a Branch Shubukai of the Shubukan Martial Arts Federation, was inducted into the El Paso Boxing/Martial Arts Hall of Fame and passed away in his home on October 2, 2013. Memorial Services were held on October 10, 2013. He was buried with Military Honors at Fort Bliss Cemetery on December 9th, 2013 at 9:30 AM - East Shelter with his wife Lydia who passed away in 2000.
